THE LAST NIGHT OF CHRIST
Darkness is not the absence of light
It is something more uncontrollable and sinister
It is not a place but a chasm We have all been there at least once more than once
And though we could not see You nor hear You
You were there Waiting Because the darkness is not dark for You at least not always.
You cried.
But not for the pain of others
But because You had to go away. We could not understand it or did not want to or both T
he impending darkness was too deep for us to grasp.
But so was the light.
One had to precede the other It has always been this way from the beginning.
The tears fell from Your eyes and then from ours before every light went out.
Time itself wanted to die with You
You told us it would be like this not with your words but with your life itself
A man full of sorrows who knows suffering
We did not want to see we looked away so we satisfied Your true essence:
He from whom everyone hides their face
